Educators raise IDEA stakes in Gorsuch nomination fight

Six educators met with their senators and the media to their share concerns about Judge Neil Gorsuch, President Trump’s takeactionnominee for the Supreme Court, whom NEA strongly opposes. In the midst of a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Judge Gorsuch, the U.S. Supreme Court voted 8-0 to reject one of his rulings against students with disabilities, and repudiated his reasoning in the case. Hear Missouri educator Kym McIntosh explain why she believes Judge Gorsuch is wrong for the Court.

Tell Congress to oppose Trump / DeVos budget cuts

President Trump’s FY2018 budget proposal is short on details, but long on ways to undermine public takeactioneducation.  Overall, U.S. Department of Education funding would be slashed by $9 billion – a nearly 14 percent cut. While cutting public schools, including eliminating afterschool programs, teacher training and funding to reduce class sizes, the Trump / DeVos agenda calls for adding billions to private schools.

Click on the take action button and tell Congress the Trump / DeVos anti-public education agenda is wrong for students and taxpayers.
