UPCOMING SPECIAL EVENT – Virginia General Assembly

Starting Wednesday, January 8 and running for several weeks, the Virginia General Assembly will meet to address thousands of issues, including that of gun violence prevention. With a Democratic majority in both houses, several bills relating to gun violence prevention will be presented, discussed, and voted on. Opposition to most of them will be fierce from gun rights advocates. Check out the bills proposed at the website for Virginia’s Legislative Information Service at Gun-Violence Prevention Bills – 2020 General Assembly and let your Delegate and State Senator know about your opinions on them. (Note that several of the bills listed on the hot-linked page do not relate to gun-violence specifically but to “Crimes and Offenses Generally.”)

REGULAR EVENTS

Join us at the monthly vigil at the NRA offices. Vigils are held on the 14th of each month in memory of the Sandy Hook shootings that occurred in Newtown, CT on Dec. 14, 2012. The vigils are also in memory of horrific other mass shootings in our country, and the devastating impact of gun violence on our communities. The 1-hour vigils are held at NRA Headquarters at 10 am each month (2 pm if the 14th is on a Sunday.) We’re there rain or shine.

11250 Waples Mill Road,
Fairfax, VA 22030
10 – 11 am
2 – 3 pm on Sundays

Signs are provided, or bring your own.

PHOTO GALLERY

Our photo gallery features some photos from past vigils. The upper ones are from Nov. 14, 2018 and feature the HRI letter carriers spelling out “GUN REFORM” in dramatic fashion. The lower one is from 2017 and displays small white t-shirts with the printed names of each of the victims of the Sandy Hook shootings. [We seem to be having trouble sometimes displaying the first two photos when Google is used as the search engine. We’re working on the problem. Interestingly, Firefox and IE seem to work OK.]

Be sure you are in the photo we post from the next event.
