We organize and take action on Russian influence in our 2016 election and the Trump Administration. We support peaceful, legal action—based on the principles set forth in the Indivisible Guide—to protect our democracy from foreign interference.
Issues of Concern
We, the Herndon Reston Indivisible (HRI) Russian Influence Group (RIG), are surprised by the diversity and seriousness of open issues arising from known or possible Russian attacks. The HRI tracks and takes action on issues such as:
> How extensive were Russia’s efforts to subvert the 2016 registration and voting process?
> Can we remove all doubt that Russia hacked Democratic information systems, and might they have also hacked Republican ones as well to use as blackmail?
> How did Russia coordinate the release of sensitive political information at critical times during the campaign? Were the contents of these releases altered, and if so, to what extent?
> What types of active measures did Russia employ to manipulate the information received by potential voters to include targeting voting districts or individuals?
> Did the Trump campaign collude with Russia in these attacks on the Democrats?
> Are any senior members of the Trump administration or Trump family subject to coercion by Russia based on Russian knowledge of collusion, financial entanglements, or undisclosed illegal acts?
> What is the extent of ongoing Russian efforts to sow misinformation, discord, or confusion into the U.S. political and governing processes?
> Which agencies of government in conjunction with what private sector organizations are coordinating an effective defensive—or deterrent—strategy to prevent Russia from once again attacking our future electoral processes with active measures?
